Camouflage House

Standing on the slopes of Osovogo Mountains, the house is seemingly grown in between the surrounding forest. Sited within the boundaries of the Tourist Center Ponikva in Eastern North Macedonia, the plot sits on the border of the yet to be developed vacation district, guaranteeing uninterrupted views of the natural scenery.

The program of the house is packed within a compact volume in the shape of a vertical prism ending with a tilted cut, mimicking the surrounding mountain landscape. The façade is layered with custom-designed lightweight cement panels which are pigmented with a forest green tint, camouflaging the volume into the nearby young fir field. The entrance of the house, accessed via a sloping steel bridge, is accented with a vertical slit opening on the front façade, glazed with a smoked and mirrored glass, reflecting the wild nature around it.

Internally, the program is vertically distributed on a split-level system, providing a dynamic spatial experience. The individual spaces are interconnected with a central perforated steel staircase leading up to the roof terrace, transforming it into a private observation deck.
